Dax suggested posting our specific goals to a blog. I don't have a blog of my own, so I'm going to post my goals here. This will be a great place for us all to share out goals so we can stay on track. I'll be posting soon. Teresa
After listenig to Dax's awesome interiviews with Kevin Gianni and Scott Toussignant, and really peeling the onion and giving a lot of thought to my real goals, I finally came up with something more than "I want to lose weight and feel better".
My goal is to lose 60 pounds by my 50th birthday on August 18th. At first, I had set my goal lower - following the old mindset that a goal must be realistic. But after listening to Dax's interview with Scott, I learned that I should not confine my goals to what I think it realistic NOW. I should believe that I certainly can lose 60 pounds (instead of only 40 or 50 lbs) in 7 months - and I do because I trust Dax to teach me how to do that. As long as I follow his instructions and stay on track, I cannot fail.
I want to lose 60 pounds because I want to go clothes shopping and leave with a smile instead of in tears. I want to live life instead of not participating in anything because I feel so unattractive. I want to avoid obesity related health problems and prevent being weak and stiff as I age. I want to wear a single digit clothing size. I want to stop feeling like I'm an embarrasment to my family. I want my old self-confidence back.
I know the price for reaching that goal is getting up at 4 am to exercise and make breakfast before work. I know I have to re-arrange my schedule so I can exercise in the afternoon. I know I must commit to the effort of shopping for fresh foods and cooking every day. I know I will have to be organized so I can pack my morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack to take to work every day. I know I will have to stay focused on my goal and overcome obstacles.
I am willing to pay these prices to achieve my goal and best of all - I have already begun paying the price by doing all of these things successfully. I am an educated person, but Dax has already taught me some amazing things that have opened my eyes and given me no doubt that I WILL succeed. I am on the path to my goal and nothing will stop me.
How are you doing with these goals Teresa? You must have been in the group ahead of me? I am into the 5th week. Where are you in the program? Good goal to be fit at 50!!
Well guys
I did it...I walked to Santiago de Compostello in Spain from St Jean Pied de port in France, over 3 mountain ranges including the Pyrenees, and that was the very first day...
In total I walked 500 KMS on my two feet carrying a 12kg rucksack every step of the way ...Horray I was fit enough at 52 to do it...thanks to Your Look Great Naked Challenge Dax and the support you and this community gave me.
returned home at the end of May and walked on average 25kms per day on pretty challenging paths...It also rained for 3 solid weeks of my crazy walk...The friendships beauty and connection with nature and beauty and simplicity of it all more than made up for it.
I am so pleased and happy, it took me one month and many adventures and friendships later I am back home in my own garden swimming pool in sunny Southern France and wearing a bikini....Not twiggy..but happy and healthy and because I feel so good I know I look good..
I continue some of the exercises and eatingI learned on the program and have lost many inches and lumps and bumps and enjoy swimming every day, tai chi and working on my internet hypnotic coaching service with clients and queries. My services are one on one either face to face here in the Carcassonne area of Southern France (cheap ryanair flights) or by phone and mail from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the world.Drop me a line sometime fi you feel so inspired menaaupy@hotmail.com
