Hi,
I'm new to this so please bear with me........... Can i eat pulses etc? and how about stock cubes? they look like they are full of junk but i'm unsure. I'm not the best of cooks so this is a real steep learning curve for me and i don't want to end up bored eating the same things all the time.
Denise,
I must admit I have no idea what those items are. I am California girl and have no clue. If the foods are prepackaged and have preservatives, then I would say no.
If you are not someone that cooks, this food program can actually work well, since the only seasoning you need are Sea Salt, Pepper and herbs or dried spices.
If you buy organic broth and season and add a bunch of chicken veggies, you can make soups or stews that are ED friendly...
I often cut up boneless skinless chicken and stir fry with balsamic vinegar and then add veggies, and serve over rice....You can substitute fish or shrimp for the chicken...
If you get Dax's ED friendly cookbook all his recipes are tasty and easy for fix... I hope this helps.
Hi Denise - yes, you can eat pulses. I suppose, strictly speaking they should be fresh, but I certainly used tinned kidney beans, etc. - I just tried to choose organic ones without added sugar, preservatives, etc. It's quite hard to find stock cubes that would fit the ED criteria (even the organic ones seem to contain sugar, etc.), but most supermarkets sell fresh stock (sometimes organic), which doesn't seem to be too bad. I suppose the best thing to do would be to make your own....but sometimes life's too short!
I had the same query yesterday when I wanted to put some Bisto on my pork chop, anyway once you read the side it really does sound like there is a load of rubbish in those things, so I didn't have it! I have been eating tinned lentils and chick peas as there are no preservatives in them (not on the French cans in my local supermarket anyway!)
