90 Days To A New You!

I cannot believe this!!

Why is this so slow?? in 54 days I have only lost 5 pounds in weight.

For much of the week, I have followed the following eating template:

Breakfast: either a slice of rye toast and a banana or omlette and a veggie shake

Snack: crudites or veg shake

Lunch: chicken salad, no dressing every day

Snack: 3 oatcakes

Dinner: Plain old lean meat or fish and a pile of veggies

I have bust a gut working out and not missed a single session....add that to an hour and a half of pilates on Weds.

So what is the problem here??

Still focussed, still motivated......and still waiting!!!

Hi Jo

Your case is unusual but not unheard of. I occasionally come across people who become 'resistant' to losing fat/weight and in nearly all cases the problem is related to previous 'abuse' of dietary protocols, especially crash dieting or very low calorie diets.

Do you think this may apply to you?

Also, please bear in mind that whilst it's a slower process to see results after abusing the metabolism, it ALWAYS ends up regulating... IF... you stick to the plan. The worst thing you could do right now is deviate.

Honest! : )

Thanks Dax....I certainly will not deviate and am once again appreciative of your help and guidance. I have been on and off diets all my life and have never been able to eat much without piling on weight. Thinking back to my teens, I hardly ate at all and for years and years skipped both breakfast and lunch (because I used to save my lunch money for clothes!!!)

I think a picture is starting to emerge here.....if only young women knew of the long term issues they cause themselves....shocking

Anyway....godd news, seems that a coupld of pounds have come off again. What will happen now is that I will gain them back plus one and them loose them again. It seems to take me 2 weeks to finally ditch each couple of pounds.

Loving the plan, never giving up!! Onwards

Many thanks again for your response Dax

Keep going Jo. I lost nearly 7 pounds in the first 2 weeks of the challenge and since then have only lost 2 lbs, however I have dropped a dress size, which is FANTASTIC. As a side effect, my husband weighed this morning and found out he had dropped 5 lbs in the last month and he's not doing the challenge, but really enjoying the meals I'm cooking for him. The seafood chowder recipe and the Thai green curry chicken are his favourites so far. The spicy chicken breast recipe is really nice too. I used it when I roasted a free range chicken last week.

I think this change of lifestyle and diet are going to stick with me for a long while.

I'm sure you'll get the results when you follow the planned exercises and eat well. Keep at it. It's just one day at a time.

Thanks so much Libby!!! I have lost another couple of pounds, though deviated from the plan for the last couple of days because of unavoidable cirumstances.....

Back on track tomorrow

Great to receive your encouragement, much appreciated xxxx

Hi Jo,
I'm new to this program - 1 day down ...
But just glancing at your menu, would you consider adding protein to each meal? It looks like your breakfast and your oatcake snack could use a little protein support. It may be helpful. Also, it sounds counterintuitive, but you might consider adding a little bit more food - adding just a *few* more calories? Your body may think it's starving and might be trying to hang on to your fat for energy?! If those two things do not work, you might also try ditching the grains (oatcakes and toast) and replacing them with vegetables instead.

I have found it very difficult to lose weight as well. I really have to get to the nitty gritty sometimes to see any results! Stick with it! : )

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at this for me Melissa!!

I think my body just got stuck....so I did something naughty and put it in Ketosis for 4 months....nearly at goal. I will certainly need the advice you have given when I start eating 'normally' again!!

I am quite enjoying the high-protein, ketosis approach and will start phasing in a few selected carbs again soon...

Thanks so much
